February 20, 2017 - 13 months!

This week was super exciting! Just let me tell you about it!!!!! To start the week off, last pday we celebrated Galentines day (gal-entine aka girls only) Sis. Ewing and I made waffles, sausage, bacon, and all the sisters serving in Anchorage brought toppings and we ate! It was great! Sis. Mayhue (the senior couple next door) even joined us for a little bit! It was fantastic!

Sis. Ewing and I also got to have a Skype lesson with a family in the Bush branch! Their son is getting baptized in July so we have the privilege of joining them for family home evening once a month, and last week was that Day! They are super awesome! They live out in a village called Akiachak (cool name huh?)

Also we celebrated Valentine's Day by heart attacking all of our investigators, the sisters, less actives, and even some members doors. We were super busy! We also didn't have a dinner cuz, well, ya know, it's Valentine's Day, and neither did one of the sisters in our district, so they came over and we had a romantic dinner of Taco Bell
and spaghetti! It was fabulous!

On Wednesday the Soldotna sisters drove to Anchorage so we could have exchanges! We double booked our area and Sis. Randall and I were able to teach a few lessons! The best part of Wednesday was dinner! The
Mayhues, President Anderson (President of the bush branch), us, and the Pittsenbargers (a family/ investigator from the bush branch)  had dinner! I got to finally meet someone from the bush! It is so nice to put faces with names! They are the funnest people ever! They came down for a wrestling tournament thingy! It was good to see them! While at dinner with them a couple came up to our table cuz they saw Elder Mayhues name tag and they introduced themselves as being a part of the bush branch....... we were all super confused cuz so were we, come to
find out they were members of our bush branch and had come down for medical reasons and we all happened to be eating at he same place! #tendermercies!

Then on Thursday the coolest experience happened! It was zone conference and a member of the 70, Elder Ardern came to have a missionto ur and he spoke with us! First he spoke at our mlc meeting (where I
made the connection that his son is Brother Ardern who is a seminary teacher at mc!!!!) then we had zone conference where 6 different zones flew/ drove in where we were all spiritually rebuked and fed all at the same time! He spoke on so many things, my favorite is he would rebuke everybody, pause, smile and say "still friends?" In his New Zealand accent. He is super funny! He also spoke on being the missionaries that match our message. Or even being the members after our missions that match our message. He pointed out everything our message was (like it's a message of hope, peace, etc) and he said we need to be worthy to share such a message. IT WAS SO GOOD!!!!!!!!

Elder Hallstrom was supposed to come, but I guess the Lord had other plans and needed him elsewhere, but I loved Elder Ardern! He is for sure called of God! Then after zone conference we finished our exchange and taught a few more lessons.

This week was super great. It is still snowing but it is starting to warm up so that's good! I love you all, and so does Heavenly Father. Yesterday we had a lesson with one of our amazing returning less actives (she is so cool! She has made it a goal to go to the temple! It's the best!) and we read with her a talk by Elder Bednar about tender mercies. In this talk he said over and over again how tender mercies are NEVER random. They
are all planned out and for the purpose of helping us. It was super cool! The spirit was so strong! We hadn't even planned on reading it, but we couldn't find the one we had originally planned on. And we weren't even going to read the whole thing but all three of us got sucked right into it! Look for those tender mercies and you will be able to recognize the Lord's hand in your life more. Cuz he is here and he does love you! That is the message we share. God is our loving Heavenly Father.

Anyways, sorry this is so long! Hope you can make it to the bottom!

Love,
Sis. Johnson :D
