So I am still alive!!! The Mtc so far has been pretty fantastic. Although I now understand why people always complained about getting fat, because all you do all day is eat, sit in a desk for 5 hours, eat, walk to a room and sit in a chair, eat, sit in the same desk for 5 more hours, then you go to bed. But the experiences here are truly truly amazing!!!! My companion's name is Sis. Nield, and we get along so well! In fact everyone in my district gets along really well. Besides Sis. Nield and I there are 3 other sisters. Sis. Treu, Sis. Williams, and Sis. Jackson. All 5 of us are going to the same mission and we room together so basically we never leave each others sides. I guess you could say I have 4 companions! There are 4 Elders in our district, but they aren't going to Alaska, so they kind of ruined the cool trend we had going on.
The first day after I was dropped off and checked in and met my companion, we went to a broadcast of the mission presidency and the quorum of the 12. They are asking us to teach differently. The theme that every speaker said was "teach repentance and baptize converts." That is what they want our focus to be on... to be honest that is what I always thought is was, but I don't really know all that much so I could be wrong. Then we went into a classroom and met our district.... Or was it the other way around? Ya I think it was! So I met my district and then went to the broadcast! That sounds more right.
The second day was when we ate, sat in a desk and studied for 5 hours by ourselves, ate, Studied for another 5 hours by ourselves, ate, then had a class. I guess there is a new schedule coordinator who did the schedule different so there is A LOT of study time... Almost to much. My brain hurts to much by the end of the day. We also got to meet our branch presidency. Sis. May ( The first councilors wife) is the sassiest lady I have ever met. She is a great grandmother of 1 and 3/9ths she says. She was the funniest for that entire meeting. The spirit was amazingly strong. I love how strong the spirit is around here. But in this particular meeting the spirit was even stronger! But the best part is, my companion and I have a calling!!! We will be, starting Sunday, The Sister Training Leaders! So that is exciting, even though I have no idea what I am doing myself, I get to attempt at helping the new missionaries that come in this coming Wednesday at adjusting... This will be interesting. And I am the senior companion. They told us that who ever has a last name that starts with the letter closest to A is the senior companion. So yep, that happens to be me!
Now today has been the most exciting... sadly I only get one more pday while I am here... but this morning our whole branch went to the Provo temple and did a session, it was beautiful!!! Then the sisters and I went to our room and just talked and relaxed because our schedule is so open! It feels amazing! Later today Sis. Nield and I are going to go make use of our gym time. (She runs marathons, so she will run with me!) Also later today we will be teaching an investigator, her name is Joan. This will be our first attempt at this so lets hope we do great!!!
Anyways I hope everything is going great for everyone!!! Love you all!!! There will be pictures next time... Hopefully. ;)
